Michel
Hello from Santa Monica!
I guess it’s time for a little update. Our plan was to write at least almost every day, but we’ve had other things to do…
Since last update we were in Santa Fe, Albuquerque (where Michel’s uncle welcomed us to his house), Grand Canyon, Las Vegas and now in Santa Monica, right next to Pacific ocean.
Last couple days were full of difficulties with finding a place to sleep and being on time. But today we were lucky and got to LA without too bad traffic and got a 2 bedroom “suite” from the first place went. So everyone is in a better mood (except Michel who’s got a little flu and stays in bed today). (1.8.2010)
Hey there, long time no write!
Here some pictures. Illinois to New Mexico… we are faster then we, or I… thought. great! Great time great people, not so great weather… first night drive (9 hours 5 of it through a huge thunderstorm). Andre sais: “even the weather is big here.” and he is right. why did I have to live in New York? so uncool! ok our car is the greates ever, chevrolet tahoe. A little tiny economyclass car
Enough writing. here we go:

A dog, obviously, maybe the most annoying one I ever met
Great shot of here here.

Here the sky was still blue… road trip feeling… hat and sunglasses!
I had to lift my shirt, Christian could swallow the puke he had in his mouth down again, luckily!
My shot of the day, we are sitting at an old closed gas station at route 66 in the middle of Texas.

New Mexico 2 Hours from Santa Fe. A wonderful Route 66 Car museum.
My personal highlight so far. In texas, in the mud, painting our roadtrip symbol on a Cadillac. And that perfectly leagal
Unbelievable, but true. in less then an hour I will be on the way. I will be on the way to pick up Andre and Christian from the Airport in Chicago. They are coming, they are on their way and will be here in 1.5 hours. I don’t know what to say or write. Seriously it is so strange, that what I’ve actualle been dreaming of and htinking about all this year is becoming reality in the end. They will come and we will drive from Chicago on the route 66 to California. What an adventure. Here we go.
Today, not much, mostly searching for a cheap guitar without finding one, getting extremely annoyed by the heat in downtown Oak Park.
Ha Chris and Andre are coming tomorrow. They are leaving the house in 2 hours… Thats a big thing, sooo looking forward to see em again! All the other ones that are not coming: your fault
You read me tomorrow?
As you guys know, Jenny and me have been to 3 different zoos in New York. I would consider us being zoo interested, maybe a little bit fans. Now we visited a fourth one today. Here a couple of impressions.

We met him at Peter and Tara’s place before but now I talked to for the first time. Tara’s brother, what a nice open person, kind. Just amazing to have a conversation with him. About the US and China, history and Waldorf. Feels good to get to know new people. He is from California. And invited us to stay with him on our roadtrip when we come to San Fransisco. Amazing what a interesting new characters you are able to run in in your last few days in the United States of America.
For dinner it was German meet balls today. Very good. I hope you read me soon.
Da German Hermann
And an other nice day in Chicago or more Oak Park is running towards its end. How are these days passing by so fast?
Today we slept in, had breakfast around 10. Left the house around 1 to go to a couple of stores around. The cool thing about that is, that Steven is borrowing me his car, so Jenny and I can go where ever we want. So great. After coming home and having some french bread with cream cheese or french bread with cream cheese and turkey or french bread with cream cheese, turkey and ham, (I am sorry I missed out on the very important point of using whipped cream cheese, thx to Jenny again.) I started to do dinner. Did I mention that in case of having turkey or ham and turkey mustard was included too? So dinner was “gefüllte Pflädle” rudely translated “stuffed pencakes”. Anyways; ground beef, peppers, tomatoes, onions, gorgonzola cheese, salt and pepper. That’s it for the filling. Flour, milk, eggs, a little salt for the pancakes. It came out good. Everyone told me. So either everyone was polite or I did good. Uh I forgot. Roll the pancakes around the filling on they go into the oven for 10 maybe 15 min with a good amount of cheese on top… and… (trompets first low than loud) DINNER!
So thats my day today, not the most interesting I ever had, but really nice. Nice talking to Andre and Christian today too. In 3 days they are here and then up up on the road and away.
No new pictures today, so just one I did not put online yesterday.

Just came back from the city. THE city, I am repeating myself, but fuck New York
(He is sooo dramatic all the time
)
Some impressions for u guys.

Looking up.
In fact we did push the button and we did wait for the signal.
Chicago‘s Times(thankts to jenny for reminding me of the “s” (haha Jan someone was faster than u!)) Square

The BEAN

Well…. There’s not much to say about this one.

Buckingham Fountain (u remember “eine schrecklich nette Familie?” or “Married… with Children”)

Skyline. A bit different than Manhattan’s I must say.
GermanHermann and Jenny
This is todays target. Yesterday and the day before were very very relaxing. We are 5 people in a 1 bedroom apartment since we moved. It is really nice though. I am waking up so early without beeing tired… awesome. I feel good, and I know for sure that Jenny does too.

Its time to go! Ah, we have squirrels running around in front of the window…. amazingly close amazingly beautiful amazingly brainless.
